Hello Great Pumpkin Participant,

We wanted to write to give you an update on the status of the Great Pumpkin Race for this year. As you may know, we have made a very difficult decision to not hold the Great Pumpkin Race for 2003. Your support in the past has been very much appreciated and has made this event successful.
We hope you will keep us in mind for the fall of 2004 as we look at how we can continue the tradition of the Great Pumpkin Race in a manner that will be even more effective in providing a fun, family-centered activity for our community.
In the meantime, we have some very exciting news to share with you about Syringa House. I'm sure many of you know that we have undergone an extensive planning process and are moving forward to build a new Syringa House in Nampa.
The present 12-bed Syringa House is in exceptionally poor condition and was outgrown long ago. At the same time, the demand for services continues to grow. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of these young women, 95% of whom have been sexually abused. You will be hearing more about the "Breaking Ground to Break the Cycle" Syringa building project in the near future and we hope you will join us in this effort.
Thank you ever so much for all you do to support youth services in our community. We are particularly blessed for your commitment to the young people served by Northwest Children's Home and Syringa House.

         Sincerely,

Lynda Campbell Clark
